GEORGE HARRISON & THE LONDON RADHA-KRISHNA TEMPLE “Govinda” (1970)

Harrison produced an entire record’s worth of Krishna chanting in the late ’60s and early ’70s. He also plays guitar. Some of the tracks are pretty straight up harmonium-and-chanting numbers, but “Govinda” is more of period pop jam, with sweeping strings and lots of reverby voices in the chorus, like an R. D. Burman/Phil Spector co-production.
